Former prime minister Chuan Leekpai warned on Sunday that campaign pledges to hand out cash will create debts for future generations to pay off and damage the economy in the long-run.

Over 40 websites pretending to be the platforms where people can register for the government's cash hand-out programme were found on the internet, Deputy commander General Nattaphon Narkphanit said at the Royal Thai Armed Forces headquarters today (March 31).
